To apply for a RUUT Business account, download the RUUT app and register. If you already have a UK-registered company, select "Open your business account" in the app and complete the application. If you do not yet have a UK company, you can use the "Found your company in the UK" option and apply for a RUUT Business account once your company has been established.

To be eligible for a RUUT Business account, your company must be registered in the UK and the director must reside in the UK.

The identity verification process has three in-app steps. First, take a photo of a valid government-issued ID, such as a passport or driving licence. Second, complete a liveness check by recording a selfie video so we can confirm it's really you. Third, confirm your personal details, including your full name, date of birth and residential address. Everything takes place in the RUUT app, with no paperwork or branch visits.

The time required for personal identity verification can vary depending on the information provided and whether additional checks are required. We may contact you if we need further information or documents. You'll receive a notification in the RUUT app once the review is complete.

After your personal identity verification is complete, RUUT retrieves available company information from Companies House. You'll be asked to confirm details about your directors and significant shareholders, provide the company's registered address and, where required, upload supporting documents such as proof of trading address or licences.

Your application will then be reviewed. We may contact you if we need additional information or documents. If your application is approved, we'll notify you and your RUUT Business account will be made available in the app.
